  • Admissions interview: In person or via Skype with the Head of Admissions or Dean of Studies

  • Application Essay: The application essay must clearly describe why you have chosen the Cut Fashion Design Academy. Why you chose this particular program. Why are you passionate about the fashion industry, and what are your future career goals in a minimum of 250 words.

  • Portfolio submission: Candidates must submit 8-12 art pieces created solely by the applicant. All pieces should be submitted digitally.

  • All applicants must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

  • Language Proficiency Requirements: IELTS (Academic Format) 5.5 band. TOEFL 75 (IBT) TOEFL 197 (CBT) TOEFL (Paper) TOIC (Academic test) 650. Cambridge (FCE). Students can also meet the language requirements by meeting the agreed English language pathways between The Cut Fashion Design Academy and its English Language Pathway Partner Institutions. Or if the student has studied for at least 2 years at secondary or post-secondary level in a country where English is the 1st language and all courses were taught in English (Transcript/ and supporting letter will be required).


 In order to study on a full-time program at The Cut Fashion Design Academy students must obtain a valid Study Permit and be permitted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to physically be in Canada. Obtaining a valid Study Permit and/or visa is the student’s responsibility. To extend your study permit, contact the nearest Canadian Immigration Center at least two- months before the expiry of your Study Permit. Where an international student on a Study Permit has been dismissed or withdraws from the program for which the Study Permit is/has been issued, The Cut Fashion Design Academy may be required to provide notification to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
