Vancouver is a coastal seaport city in western Canada located in the Lower Mainland region of the province of British Columbia. The Greater Vancouver area is the third-largest metropolitan area, and the one with the highest population density in Canada. Vancouver is consistently named as one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life, and the first city ranked among the top-ten of the world’s most well-living cities for five consecutive years.

The fashion scene in Vancouver has been growing exponentially in the last decade. Thanks to big-time clothing manufacturers coming to Vancouver, local designers have gotten a big break. The city is attracting aspiring entrepreneurs and designers from other parts of Canada and the rest of world. The success of Canadian brands such as Lululemon, Aritzia, Oak & Fort, Smash & Tess, Brunette, Dish & Duer, and Gentle Fawn is inspiring many young designers, and has made Vancouver a shopping destination for locals and tourists alike.

Our studio is located in Kitsilano, known locally as Kits, and is is synonymous with famous Kits Beach—named one of the “top 10 best city beaches in the world” by international travel magazines, and perfect for outdoor fitness. This area of Vancouver brings together a collection of attractions, beach and parks, residential streets, and a couple of main commercial districts. It is also one of the city’s organic-food hubs and has extensive restaurants and designer stores along West 4th Avenue and West Broadway. Kitsilano runs along the south shore of English Bay, between popular Granville Island and Point Grey. With the tall mountains and scenic beaches surrounding our studio, we can guarantee you will feel inspired, while studying at The Cut Fashion Design Academy.
