During this eight-week beginner quilting course, students are taught how to create a 25 quilt block and how to design your own lap size quilt.
A final quilt will be worked on throughout the course. Students will learn how to:
create quilt blocks
sew blocks together
Length: 8 weeks
Schedule: Classes run once per week, same day and time, for the duration of the course
Class Capacity: 6 students
If there is 2 or less students registered for the class, the class will be considered a private class. Students will complete all assignments as listed, in a 6 week period instead of 8 weeks.
Please arrive to class on time. If you will be away for class, please inform us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any cancellation or absences that are not notified within 24 hours of your class will be considered a missed session, no make up class will be provided.
This program does not require approval by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training. As such, the registrar did not review this program.
Meet Your Instructor
Susan started sewing in 1984 with her grandmothers Sears Kenmore sewing machine and never looked back.
Susan has taken a variety of classes and attended workshops to improve her sewing and quilting skills. Most recently she obtained her BC Provincial Instructional Diploma through Vancouver Community College to offer her students more enhanced learning. She is a standing member of the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild and former founder and member of the Ucluelet & Tofino West Coast Quilt Guild.
Over the last 15 years she has taught sewing and quilting classes at retail stores, community centres, quilting retreats and quilt guilds.
Susan specializes in beginner sewing and strives to make sewing fun and to open the many endless opportunities that her students can explore from taking that single first stitch.
