Embark on a creative voyage with our 8-week Color Theory and Art Course for Beginners, a comprehensive exploration of artistic expression through color.     In the 8-Week Color Theory and Art Course for Beginners, students' progress and proficiency will be evaluated through a combination of practical assessments and creative projects. Practical evaluations will involve applying color theory principles and artistic techniques to various projects. Students will be assessed based on their execution, creativity, understanding of color concepts, and ability to apply them effectively in their artwork. Additionally, creative projects will be assigned to encourage students to explore their creativity and experiment with different artistic mediums. Instructors will provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills and develop their artistic abilities throughout the course.
     

    Meet your professors

    Angel Torrella

    Angel Torrella is a versatile visual artist, educator, graphic designer, and a pioneering figure in the digital art scene. Angel Torrella possesses an extensive background that bridges traditional fine arts with modern digital publishing, AI, and graphic design. His career is marked by a transition from high-level academic leadership in Cuba to a role as a staple of the design faculty in Canada.

    1. Design Educator: He is a veteran instructor in the Graphic Design program at LaSalle College Vancouver, where he has taught since 2006. He also served as the Academic Coordinator from 2010 to 2017.

    2. Audio Visual Educator: At PAVI, he taught the foundational digital art and graphic design courses from 2006 to 2010, which he continues to lead today.

    3. Digital Art Pioneer: In 1989, Torrella became one of the first pioneers of digital art in Latin America. His current work often involves complex digital techniques, such as creating fractal art and digital matte painting.

    4. Professional Artist: He is the creator of the "Mandel Bay City" series, a collection of digital and traditional artworks that blend abstract, surrealist, and urban landscape styles. His work is characterized by high-quality archival materials and giclée printing.
