BC Private Training Institutions Branch

Visit BC Private Traning Institutions Branch

The Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training administers the Private Training Act. Any private training institution offering at least 1 career related program with 40 hours or more of instructional time and $4,000.00 or more in tuition costs must go through the designation and recertification process. The Cut Fashion Design Academy has met all of the required standards and continue to work with PTIB to improve our academy in an effort to continually improve our student experience.

 
Istituto Italiano Design

The Institute of Italian Design is and accredited private training institution in Perugia Italy. The institute specializes in knitwear and cashmere. Programs include a Masters in Fashion Management, Short courses in Fashion Design, and 3-year diploma courses in Interior, Industrial, Communication and Fashion Design.
The Cut Fashion Design Academy and the Institute of Italian Design have a formal articulation agreement in place that allows all TCFDA alumni to attend 1- or 2-months post-graduation to study in Perugia at the institute. This agreement is reciprocal, thus allowing graduates of our Italian partners to study in Vancouver at TCFDA. The agreement also allows other for other collaborations related to Fashion Design.

Educational Quality Assurance

Educational Quality Assurance is a quality assurance designation that identifies BC public and private post-secondary institutions that have met or exceeded provincial government recognized quality assurance standards and offer consumer protection. EQA provides one standard provincial seal that can be recognized globally as symbol of quality. The EQA seal allows students to easily identify which provincial institutions the government of British Columbia recognizes as having met quality assurance standards and that offer consumer protection to learners.

 
Language Studies International

LSI has an extensive network of schools located around the world. Students can learn English in one of their many schools in England, Canada, the USA, New Zealand, or Australia. They also have language centres in France and Switzerland. LSI also works with partner language schools in Spain, Italy, Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica.
The Cut Fashion Design Academy has a formal articulation agreement in place that allows potential candidates wishing to attend TCFDA opportunities to improve their English via a variety of English programs offered by LSI to meet our language proficiency requirements. TCFDA is committed to supporting each student’s language development and their career aspirations in the Fashion Industry.

 
The City of Coquitlam

The Cut Fashion Design Academy has partnered with the city of Coquitlam to offer summer fashion camps in Coquitlam during the months of July and August. This allows those aspiring young fashion designers to experience our camps within their own community.

NorthWest Homestay

TCFDA has partnered with NorthWest Homestay in order to provide accommodation for international students, or students that reside outside of the Vancouver area. Students receive all of the information they need in order to secure their homestay. Homestay is an opportunity to stay with a Canadian family. It allows a student to observe and to learn about Canadian culture by participating in normal day to day activities. Northwest visits all of the homestay families in their homes when they apply to become host families. NorthWest look for host families that are friendly and happy, and who are interested in meeting people from other countries.
