    Pattern Making Fundamentals: Level 3 Part-Time

     

    Take what you’ve learnt from previous classes and put it into practice as you draft a basic pant block and some classic styles before styling and designing your own pants.

     
     

    Important Notes

  • Classes of two or fewer students are considered private classes. In this instance, you’ll complete all assignments as listed in six weeks rather than eight.
  • If you’re going to miss class for any reason, please email in advance to let us know. If you fail to report your absence within 24 hours, your class will be considered a missed session and no make up class will be provided.

  • You’re permitted one make up class per session, as long as it’s taken within the time frame of your course and as long as a spot becomes available during another class

    • Meet your professors

    Madison Prangnell

    Madison has over 8 years of garment construction and pattern making knowledge. She is a VCAD Fashion Design graduate and has been working with various freelance clients and small businesses based in Vancouver for the past 4 years. Working as a Start-Up Product Consultant, Materials and Sourcing Coordinator, and Junior Designer gave her all of the confidence to start her own businesses.
    Now, she owns Madison Prangnell Atelier, a full service alterations and customwear shop that caters to custom event wear and bridal. She also is CEO and co-founder of size inclusive, women's underwear brand, Here For Hazel.

    Melissa McSorley

    Following in her mother and grandmother’s footsteps, Melissa chose a career in the fashion industry and has been teaching for the last three years. She is a graduate from the Art Institute of Vancouver’s Fashion Design and Merchandising program. After a successful pattern making internship while in her second-to-last quarter, Melissa started working in the industry three months before graduation. Since graduation, Melissa has been building her skill set in contract pre-production manufacturing, wearing many hats. Melissa runs a Design Development Studio in Vancouver and also specializes in one of a kind custom gowns for clients.
