After immigrating to Canada at the age of 19 she started building her drawing skill set. Soon after that she began her fashion career at the Visual College of Art Design where she studied fashion design with a speciality in fashion marketing. With a keen interest in pattern making and garment construction, Komal has acquired a range of expertise. Adept in technical skills such as drawing, computer- aided design and pattern drafting Komal has gained a love for teaching all that she has learned. Komal began her teaching career in fashion design at the Cut Design Academy in June of 2022 in Vancouver, BC.
