Grow your knowledge of the advanced knowledge pedicure techniques and foot care workshop in this small hands-on class where you’ll enjoy one-on-one attention from professors with top-level industry experience.

 

Overview

The Pedicure Techniques and Foot Care Workshop provides comprehensive training in the art of pedicures and foot care. This workshop focuses on enhancing students' skills in providing relaxing and therapeutic pedicures, as well as addressing common foot ailments. Participants will learn proper sanitation procedures, nail and cuticle care, exfoliation techniques, callus removal, foot massage, and the application of moisturizers and nail polish. With an emphasis on foot health and client comfort, this workshop equips students with the knowledge and techniques to deliver exceptional pedicure services.

Required: High school graduation or equivalent or mature student status (19+)

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of foot care and its impact on overall foot health and well-being.
  • Master the step-by-step process of a professional pedicure, including nail and cuticle care, callus removal, exfoliation, massage, and polish application.
  • Identify common foot disorders and conditions, such as fungal infections, ingrown nails, and corns, and learn appropriate treatment and referral procedures.
  • Practice proper sanitation and sterilization techniques to ensure a clean and safe pedicure environment.
  • Gain proficiency in foot and lower leg massage techniques to provide relaxation and promote circulation.
  • Learn about different foot care products and their benefits, including moisturizers, scrubs, masks, and therapeutic treatments.
  • Understand client consultation and assessment to tailor pedicure services based on individual needs and preferences.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of foot anatomy and understand the importance of proper foot hygiene.

    The Pedicure Techniques and Foot Care Workshop incorporates various evaluation methods to assess students' understanding and practical skills. These methods may include practical assessments where students demonstrate their proficiency in providing pedicures, written assessments to evaluate theoretical knowledge of foot care and disorders, case studies or role-playing exercises to simulate client consultations and treatment plans, and client feedback surveys to gauge customer satisfaction. Instructors will provide guidance, feedback, and support to help students refine their techniques and enhance their pedicure skills.
     

    Meet your professors

    Heidi C

    Heidi has been a makeup and hair artist in Vancouver since 2010 after leaving her job as a flight attendant. Her journey started from a makeup counter to a bridal to commercial. She has worked hundreds of weddings, has been published over three dozen times and is currently agency represented. She worked for many brands on the market, was a trainer with a French luxury brand and is currently a studio makeup artist with another.

    Iki Lee

    Iki has been a professional Makeup artist and hair stylist in Vancouver since 2019. After graduating from Blanche Macdonald, Iki has developed well-rounded makeup skills in beauty, editorial, body painting, and special effects. Iki takes pride in getting her clients camera-ready and flawless for their big events – whether on-set or on a wedding day, she honed her skills working for production, fashion shows, photoshoots, and weddings. Iki is currently a Union member of IATSE 891 and ACFC 2020 and the Head of the Makeup Department for JoyTV. Her body painting work has been exhibited nationwide, including the Museum of Anthropology (UBC), Telephone Gallery (Vancouver), The Bows (Calgary), and Maison Des Artistes Visuels Francophones (Winnipeg). She has also worked on numerous fashion campaigns includes: Casca, Understance, Thom., Montecristo, Vancouver Fashion Week, Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, and the list goes on.    With all those experiences, she finds her true passion is using makeup to tell a story and design a character via the aesthetic and artistry details.
